Based in Kew, our expert psychology team has specific training and experience in three key areas: depression/anxiety, disordered eating, and chronic pain/illness. We provide our counselling services both face to face and online over Skype.
Both depression and anxiety can be extremely debilitating conditions. You might identify with some or all of the following: feeling flat, overwhelmed, irritable, frustrated, miserable, worried and scared. You will probably notice that your work hasn't been at its normal standard, you don't feel like socialising, you can't concentrate and maybe you're relying on alcohol or drugs to get through the day. At Health Psychology Centre our team are experts in treating the range of mood disorders including depression, generalised anxiety, PTSD, phobias and bipolar disorder.
Whether you suffer from anorexia, bulimia or binge eating, our strategies help you develop a healthy relationship with food and your body. The practical tips and strategies that we can provide are very useful for people undergoing lapband surgery or liposuction.
Diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, asthma, Chrone's disease, migraines, dizziness, chronic fatigue syndrome, MS, HIV, infertility, and PCOS: Many of these conditions have symptoms that cannot be seen, which can impact how others react to you and understand you. For some of them the symptoms fluctuate unpredictably, so that you have good days and bad days but you might not ever know what is ahead tomorrow. For some people, their symptoms cannot be diagnosed as a particular illness and this carries so much frustration and confusion to patients and families.
Our expert Health Psychologists, have specialised training and experience in helping you to cope with your condition and symptoms. We know that even if your symptoms cannot be seen, they are real and they impact your life: at work, in your family, at play and in your social life. We fully understand the burden of illness on your life and we want you to rest assured that we have helped hundreds of people like you to gain control over their life from the illness.
The Health Psychology Centre is pleased to offer flexible options for people who find online therapy more convenient. Some of our clients are expats living in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Others are people who simply value the saving in travel time and appreciate having the opportunity to have their therapy sessions in the comfort of their own home. Our psychologists who provide online therapy, are fully registered psychologists and are also providing face to face therapy.
